NCEC is an innovative multiple Education Programme by which each category of people gets benefit from this programme. KARRTABYA is running one NCEC in the remote area of Junagarh Block with the support of Kalahandi Zilla Sakshyarata Samiti since 2003.

Vocational Training to the NCLP Student

KARRTABYA has been organising vocational Training Programmes since the year 1996 for the students of NCLP schools. These programmes have made much impact on the students as well as the local community. It was so attractive for the community that some of the parents have sent their children to the training centres for continuation of the learning after the completion of their study. The students who have completed their training are now able to manage their families from the income of their craft.

The condition of formal education in the working area is very poor. Most villages are located in hilly tracks, which do not have any communication facility. This makes it difficult for most of small children to attend schools. The irregularity of teachers and absence of an educational environment in the school and the village are other causes of the poor status of education in the project region. The situation dose not change in spite of several schemes adopted by the government. The dropout rate due to all these factors is always high. Considering this situation, KARRTABYA has initiated some activities in the operational area for the overall development of the educational scenario.

Special Child Labour School:

KARRTABYA is running four special NCLP Schools in three villages of Junagarh block & one in Koksara block with the financial support from NCLP New Delhi since the year 1996. They are:

1. Atigaon of Atigaon G.P. of Junagarh Block.
2. Banijara of Banijara G.P. of Junagarh Block.
3. Borguda of Dundelmal G.P. of Junagarh Block.
4. Moter  of Moter GP of Koksara Block.

Since last couple of years KARRTABYA has been emphasizing on sustainable rural livelihood programme with increased entitlement rights. It has initiated this intervention in 5 forest & hilly track villages of Junagarh block with the active participation of the beneficiaries. The programme is supported by IGSSS. Attractive programmes have been chalked out with micro level planning. The programmes are made to create long-term impacts and designed in such a manner that it will sustain with people’s participation even after the completion of the project. For the maintenance enough capacity building steps have already been taken up with proper guidance by project staff.
