KARRTABYA a well-known non-profit, non-Government voluntary organization of Kalahandi came to existence in the year 1990. It was formed by a group of Kalahandia youths, who were the members of the local youth club; involved in various organizational and developmental activities of the village. They believed that social transformation could be brought through dedicated work. Pursuing this, the youths worked single mindedly to build up strength within the people of the locality and mobilizing them to fight for social justice. This involvement gradually spread to other villages and became more comprehensive in nature. With the growth of understanding, their involvement became more matured and targeted towards various issues of the region. With the genuine work force, the project planning, designing and implementing process it has webbed the projects, in the Kalahandi district as well as outside of it. The impact of their deed took the name and fame of the organization. Good deed, good activities influence the direction of any one those who come closer to it. Considering these things, the organization has explored such activities so that people move forward to see the newly rising sun.
KARRTABYA is registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 in the year 1992 and under FCRA in the year 1999. The Organization started its works primarily to assess and understand the social status of the poorest of the poor in Junagarh Block of Kalahandi district and mitigate their needs through community participation by offering solutions, which are sustainable. At present KARRTABYA has extended its foot print into 7 blocks of Kalahandi district. We have also worked in 1 block of Kandhamal district of Odisha and Deobhog block of Chhattisgarh state. Presently we are working in 7 Block of Kalahandi.
A developed society with more Peace, justice & equity in favour of poorest of the poor / down trodden of the society irrespective of Caste, Creed, Sex and religion.
Sustainable socio-economic development through capacitating the poor and downtrodden, emphasizing their active participation in social, economic, political, and moral development.
